Dear Ms. Choe,

My name is Matt Winick, an Asian American from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I have a strong interest in learning history, social justice, and current events. In these subjects, I like to learn the need for Civil Rights to be stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution, have social justice to help improve the communities, and many others.  Ms. Choe, the main reason why I’m writing you a letter is to explain how I find your work as a news reporter/anchor of Fox 35 Orlando to be very inspiring to me.

In your current role as a news reporter/anchor of Fox 35 Orlando, I like on how you are a strong supporter of civil rights causes by advocating for people with disabilities’ rights and expressing the need to make civil rights stronger to reduce discrimination in order to protect minorities including people who are different.  Also I like on how you are a strong supporter of campaign to combat against bullying.  Your approach in the news media like interviewing people about different topics ranging from local politics through other topics, doing hands-on approach with other people in businesses or when they are demonstrating a product to help viewers understand them, and taking the time to listen to citizens of America including citizens of the Florida area when they have concerns are great ways for journalism. Another thing that I like about your work as a news reporter/anchor of the Fox 35 Orlando is how you give tips on healthy lifestyles, reporting on public officials who are corrupt, asking public officials that hard question to hold them accountable,  exploring different topics related to medical research to combat against different diseases, highlighting different ideas to improve communities or society, support emphasizing the need for environmental protection to reduce pollution, and many others. Also another thing to mention is I like on how you heavily advocate for the need for auditing of government agencies including non-profit organizations  to make sure that money isn’t being abused or wasted when they are needed to improve services, heavily emphasize the need for better mental health services to help people who struggle with a mental health or have the illnesses, express the need to have criminal justice reform including combat against racial injustice, and support educational awareness about minorities communities. On the Fox 35 Orlando I  like on how you talk about minorities communities, do educational awareness about different issues that affect society, and work on doing investigation reporting with other Fox 35 Orlando news investigation team to help address the problems that society faces or when services aren’t helping people.   Besides your work as a news reporter, I like on how you are a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes to reduce discrimination along with social justice causes to improve communities.

Ms. Choe, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts in different settings (social and environmental), and get teased. Also with my disability I have face some challenges on understanding social cues and dealing with social anxiety. Your advocacy along with support for civil rights including people with disabilities’ right causes really inspire me to work hard on my disability. Also being an Asian American with a disability is difficult when some Asians including some Asian American tease me or get judgmental about not meeting their standards.   Your role as an Asian American role model on supporting Asian American with disabilities’ rights gives me some confidence about being an Asian American when I face challenges.  On Youtube, your page, and on the Fox 35 Orlando website I enjoy learning about your work including some current events. Dear Ms. Zegler,

My name is Matt Winick and I’m a fan of your acting. My favorite movie that you were in was West Side Story. West Side Story was a great musical remake movie about Tony who meets Maria, a young girl at a high school dance where they develop feelings for each other despite coming from different background along with the gangs rival of Jets including Sharks. Ms. Zegler, I thought you did an excellent job making Maria a greta character with different unique traits like navigating NYC including American culture as a Puerto Rican immigrant, wanting to have compassion for people who have struggles in life or who come from a different background, and continuing her relationship with Tony despite him coming from a different background. Also what I liked about Maria is how she wants to break from the negative stereotype of how people view negative of a Puerto Rican. In West Side Story I really liked on seeing how Maria and Tony would develop a bond including a relationship despite coming from a different culture or when the rival gangs would break them apart.  West Side Story had some good life lessons or messages like how it is important to allow diversity to include people who come from a  different background or a different culture together,  the importance of reduce prejudice or other forms of discrimination policies on people who are different including people who are from a different culture, the need for compassion including kindness for people who have struggles in life, how love is important on society or social settings,  and other methods of non-violent ways to reduce tensions. Also I enjoyed watching Disney Snow White because I liked on how you made Snow White be compassionate including kind to other people including the 7 dwarfs when they had struggles in life, helping Dopey, a dwarf that struggles with social be confident to speak, and many others.

Besides your acting career, I truly appreciate on how you are a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes to reduce discrimination. Also on your activism, I like on how you support social justice causes to improve communities. Ms. Zegler, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased.  Another thing that I struggle with a disability is when other people including other adults get judgmental about me being different from them and have struggles to find different methods to improve myself. Also with my challenges, I have struggles on maintaining friendships when other people get judgmental about me having a disability or not meeting their expectations. Your advocacy for civil rights  including people with disabilities’ rights causes really inspires me to work hard on my disability. Your character Maria in West Side Story and as Snow White in Disney Snow White helps give me motivation to have compassion for people who have struggles, be understanding on where people are coming from, expand on critical thinking to understand different situations or to learn, and find different methods to improve myself.

I strongly believe that you are a very talented actress. You did an excellent job making your character Maria in West Side Story have different unique traits. You truly inspire me to work hard on my disability, be a fan of your acting including your activism, and continue to learn different ways to improve myself.   I was wondering if you could please take the time to answer my questions. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me. Please continue to make a great difference for society.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick
