Hello L.A. Laker fans. I am  a fan of L.A. Lakers and today I got in the mail from my friend who interns at L.A. Lakers sent me a team photo and a cheerleading squad (L.A. Lakers girls). My friend and I use to play basketball when we were kids and use to watch the L.A. Lakers play on TV.

I enjoy learning more about your life on how you worked hard to battle juvenile diabetes, coming from a middle class family, and going through the Judicial system career. I got a letter from Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor after I wrote her a letter describing about myself with interests in ideas for reform for the criminal justice and why I like history. In my letter I also send my congrats to her for being nominated in May 2009 and how I like her stance on protecting the 4th amendment, support rights for minorities along with people with different preferences, and others. Elie Wiesel letter

I received a letter from Elie Wiesel after I wrote him a letter a few days ago explaining that I learned a lot about his life during the holocaust with sending my sympathy to him having to go through losing his friends and family and explained myself about my strong interest in history and my main goal using history in museum or teaching to make a world a better place to learn not to repeat the same mistakes, strong support for Civil Rights for people who are different to be protected from discrimination, and the need for human rights to end oppressive government. Also in my letter I also sent my prayers to him , the survivor of the holocaust, and people including refugees who struggle to survive through oppressive government or discrimination.

My strong interest in history is to learn not to repeat the same mistakes in the past, innovate new ideas to make world a better place, support Civil Rights for minorities, gender, and people with disabilities, and different sex orientation from discrimination and hate crime, strong need for health care for people including people who can’t afford insurance, the need for human rights with immigration reform to protect refugees  with immigrants and people from oppressive government, and find ways to have countries work together to solve problems

Dear Mr. Wiesel,

My name is Matthew Winick who has a strong interest in studying history and learning about world culture. The reason my strong interest are in these areas is to learn to repeat the same mistakes in the past, innovate new ideas to make world a better place, support Civil Rights for minorities, gender, and people with disabilities, and different sex orientation from discrimination and hate crime, strong need for health care for people including people who can’t afford insurance, the need for human rights with immigration reform to protect refugees with immigrants and people from oppressive government, and find ways to have countries work together to solve problems. Mr. Wiesel in my history classes I have taken in middle school through college I have learned about the Holocaust and prison camps. What really shocked me was that the Nazi put people with disabilities, seniors, Jews, and people who didn’t have the same religion as what they wanted and doing inhumane things. When learning about these things It scared me because I worry about the future if we as a society repeats the same mistake because I have a disability with autism with a learning disability. Having a disability has been hard in my life because I get teased about it and people making harsh jokes about it. However I have been doing well with my disability because I have been getting help from tutors, teachers, and some friends to help me learn new subjects and to do well in life. Also in the U.S. there is a law American With Disabilities Act 1990 and Civil Rights At which helps protect me from being discriminated.

Mr. Wiesel I am sorry for what you had to go through in the Holocaust and losing your friends and family. I am proud of you for not giving up hope when struggling to survive. When I visit the Holocaust Museum, Civil Rights museum, or memorials I was have strong sympathy for people who suffer through oppressive government and people who risk their lives to protect people from harm including discrimination because they are different. I want to congratulate on winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Your strong emphasis on the need for human rights, protect people from discrimination, and peace are very inspiring to me with that I agree with you.  My name is Matthew Winick and I’m a community college student studying history with some business.  My favorite part in history is studying how minorities, gender, famous people, and along with U.S. Presidents working hard to make our country better. I’m proud of using my history perspective to help support museum and memorials to help make a difference and teach people how to make a better world. I volunteer at Hands On Museum in Ann Arbor to help youth learn education through demonstrations and hands on approach. You are my favorite president because of your speeches and your achievements. Your achievements really made an impact on my life. For example the Affordable Care Act help me stay on my parent’s insurance until I’m 26. The Recovery Act in 2009 helped me learn how to work through job training. I believe that there should be more job training programs to help other people. Your commitment to help protect people with disabilities, minorities, gender, and people with different orientation to be protected against hate crime and discrimination has made a difference in my life and many others who have suffered through discrimination.

  

 In 2012 Presidential election I really had a great experience becoming a 1^st time voter and helping your campaign for reelection.  Your goals really helped me feel that these issues are important like using clean along with alternative energy to reduce global warming, put laws to make student loans from being jacked up by financial institutions, protect women’s right to choose, support equal pay, and creating good, reasonable, and common sense ideas to allow federal spending to help create jobs. In your State of The Union speech I was proud to hear your commitment to raise the minimum wage. My job is a minimum wage job at a sorority house in Ann Arbor Michigan as a busser where I take care of the dining room including help around the kitchen. I make about $8 per hour. Even if I make $8 per hour it is hard for me in the future to own a place to live or even get health insurance. I’m proud to support your idea about raising the minimum wage to $10.10 to help me and other people who work at minimum wage jobs to help support themselves along with family and children including making money to afford health insurance.

          

 As an American I feel disappointed that special interest groups, news medias, and Congress use harsh scare tactics to make it hard for your ideas to help the people get passed because they care about getting money from special interest groups and pay raises for themselves. However I’m still proud of you coming into the White House and work hard to help this country move forward. I wish you the best luck for your second term along with your family and I hope you can accomplish more of your achievements. Another thing I wish that history can be kind to your presidency and can shred some light to your achievements. I believe you have work hard as President of United States with great achievements like President FDR, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, John Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton.
