Dear Chief Justice Rush,

My name is Matthew Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan with a strong interest in studying history, public policy, and the criminal justice system.  The main reason I have a strong interest in these subjects is to learn the need to advance on Civil Rights to help protect people who are different from being discriminated, have checks and balances in the criminal justice system to help protect people’s civil liberties while finding ways to reduce crime, and many others. My main goals for the future is to teach people about the need to improve society and advocate for reform.  Chief Justice Rush, I find your work as juvenile justice judge and currently as Chief Justice of Indiana Supreme Court to be very inspiring to me.

When you served as a juvenile court judge in Tippecanoe County, I liked on how you assisted other court officials including law enforcement to create county Court Appointed Special Advocate program to allow court-appointed advocates help abused or neglected children get the care they need including working to provide children with a safe and healthy environment in homes.  Your work on creating the CASA program is common sense and is a great way to help children who are abused or neglected to get assistance from the judicial system.  In your role as a juvenile court judge, I was very proud on how you implemented a juvenile drug treatment court with a 24 hour assessment center for youth to help youth who were drug addicts get the care they need so they won’t use drugs instead of strict sentencing and even have mentors work with youth to find ways to make sure that they stay away from crime.  In your current role as Chief Justice of Indiana Supreme Court, I truly appreciate your commitment to be a strong supporter of the need to advance on Civil Rights to help protect minorities, women, and people with disabilities from being discriminated. Another thing that I like is how you continue advocating for the need to reform the juvenile system to help youth get the care they need or assistance they need away from crime or drug use.

Chief Justice Rush, your work as a juvenile justice judge and current as Chief Justice of Indiana Supreme Court really inspired me to take a Intro to Criminal Justice class at Washtenaw community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In the class I got to learn about how the court system works, Miranda Rights, some juvenile justice, law enforcement, and many others. Also in my class my instructor explained to me about the need to reform to criminal justice system like the need for drug treatment programs to help drug addicts get the care they need, have community service programs to help rehabilitate non-violent offenders including juveniles from re-offending, expand on services to help victims of crime including children, and have DNA testing with fund forensic science to reduce wrongful convictions.  I agree with my instructor on the need to reform the system. Having Autism with a learning disability is hard for me because I have trouble with comprehension, struggle with speech when communicating with people, and sometimes I get teased by other people. Your commitment to reform the criminal justice system and be a strong supporter of Civil Rights including people with disabilities’ rights inspires me to work hard on Autism and have a passion to learn different subjects especially history.

I strongly believe that you make a great difference in fixing the juvenile justice system to help youth get the assistance they need  and advocating for great reform to fix the criminal justice system in your role as juvenile justice judge and current as Chief Justice of Indiana Supreme Court. Chief Justice Rush, your work has inspired me to learn more about the criminal justice system including learn the need for reform and inspires me to continue working hard on Autism. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me. Please continue advocating for great ideas to make the criminal justice system better for society.

Dear Attorney Johnson,

My name is Matthew Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan with a strong interest in history and learning about public policy. The main reason I have a strong interest in these subjects is to learn the need to advance on Civil Rights to help protect people who are different from being discriminated, protect the environment from pollution, have checks and balances in the criminal justice system to reduce crime while protecting people’s civil liberties, and many others. The main reason I’m writing you a letter is because I find your work as U.S. Attorney for district of South Dakota and your father former U.S. Senator Tim Johnson of South Dakota to be very inspiring to me.

When you were U.S. Attorney for district of South Dakota in 2009-2015, I liked on how you advocated for the need to expand on Civil Rights including combating against hate crime laws to help protect women, minorities, people with disabilities, and people with different sexual orientation from being discriminated.   Your approach on advocating to have programs to help protect women including victims of domestic violence, supporting treatment programs to help them get the care they need to recover from trauma, and prosecuting people who commit domestic violence is common sense and a great way to reduce domestic violence while helping victims of crime get the care they need.  On Native Americans issues, I was very proud of how you teamed up with President Obama and U.S. Attorney Tim Purdon from North Dakota on finding ways to improve public safety in tribal communities by working with tribal police officers to help them get assistance they need to reduce crime along with improving government relations with Native American tribal communities and implement leadership training for Native American youth to drive them away from drugs and crime.  When your father Tim Johnson served as U.S. House of Representative from South Dakota At-large district, I liked on how he supported the American With Disabilities Act of 1990 to help protect people with disabilities from being discriminated in education and public places. In the U.S. Senate, I was very proud on how he supported getting funds for renewable energy sources like wind, solar, biofuel, and energy efficient products to reduce addiction to oil with gas and push for conservation to help protect national parks including Native American reservations or communities from being disturbed or polluted.  To improve the economy, I liked on how he voted in favor of The American Recovery Act to create job –training programs to help train workers including youth on developing job skills.

I have Autism with a learning disability and having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble with comprehending on learning different subjects, and other people tease me. Your work as U.S. Attorney on advocating for expanding on Civil Rights including protecting people who are different from hate crime inspires me to work hard on Autism. Also your role as U.S. Attorney inspired me to be interested in taking a criminal justice class to learn more about the court systems, Miranda rights, need for checks and balances, how law enforcement works, and need to help protect people including victim’s rights along with more history classes to learn the need for reform.  Your father former U.S. Senator Tim Johnson’s support for the ADA helped me get an education in elementary school through my community college by having accommodations like extra time on exams, have a tutor or a T.A. work with me on different subjects, and have educational software including a recorder to help me improve on comprehension along with improve on note-taking. The ADA helped me get an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts at Washtenaw Community College and my main focus in it is history, government, criminal justice, some science, and some business.  Also U.S. Senator Tim Johnson’s support for the American Recovery Act helped me get into a job-training program called the B-Side of Arts at EMU College of Business in 2009 where they had lectures about how business works and different classes to help me along with other people develop job skills. The American Recovery Act helped me improve myself, learn different job skills, and helped me understand how some business works.

Attorney Johnson, you and your father Senator Tim Johnson made a great difference for me through both of your roles. Also both of you inspired me to be interested in learning different subjects especially history and to work hard on Autism.  I was wondering if you could please forward my letter praising Senator Tim Johnson to him. I’m sending a photo of me to remind you and your father on how you made a great impact on me. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, inspiring me, and making a great difference for society.

Dear Ms. Squerciati,

My name is Matt Winick and I’m a fan of Chicago PD and I really like the show because it has a great mix of crime drama with drama, seeing how different law enforcements works or how they work together like police officers or detectives in intelligence unit, and learn on how different characters have traits that can help solve a case or help one another. In Chicago P.D., I really like Officer Kim Burgess because I like on how she has a heart for people who struggle or have problems when they commit a crime or are a victim of crime while making her a tough law enforcement. Also what I like about Kim Burgess is that she has a good working relationship between Kevin Atwater and other law enforcements.  In the show I liked on how she develops a friendship and later a relationship with Adam Ruzek  where they work together to help each other when they have hard times.  In seasons 1-3 of Chicago P.D., I really like on how Officer Kim Burgess gains experience on being a strong police officer, using good judgment when dealing with crime, and many others.  Ms. Squerciati, I really think you do such a great job on making Officer Burgess a great character in the show.

Ms. Squerciati, I’m very proud to call you one of my favorite actress on Chicago P.D. because you do such an awesome job on making Officer Kim Burgess a great character. I enjoy learning about Officer Burgess’s gaining experience through the sho. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter and, helping make Chicago P.D. a great show, and working hard to make your character a great part of Chicago P.D. I wish you to do well to continue filming season 3 of the show.

Dear Mr. Hall,

My name is Matt Winick and I am a fan of your acting. My favorite TV Show that you acted in is DEXTER. Dexter is a great tv show because I like how you played Dexter Morgan, who is a blood spatter who has anti-hero ego where he kills bad people to protect the people and protect who he cares about and trying hard to be human. In Dexter, I really like your narration on his perspective and helped me understand more about him on why he does these things or what it like dealing with different things or struggle to fit in in an ordinary life including learning his origin. As a Dexter fan, I enjoy watching every season 8 episodes because I liked on how your character developed himself with working hard at overcoming different obstacles. Mr. Hall, as a huge and truly fan of the show I really think you did a really awesome super job portraying Dexter Morgan.  Besides your acting career, I like on how you are an activist on protecting the environment by supporting Waterkepper Alliance to work on making water including rivers and oceans clean and safe for people to use or help benefit animals from pollution.  Another thing that I like is on how you are a spokesperson to fundraise money for a campaign to help combat against Cancer, Leukemia, and Hodgkin’s lymphoma and to advocate for more treatment programs to help combat against these diseases.  Mr. Hall, I agree with you on the need to protect the environment from pollution and your work on being an activist inspires me to be interested in learning about the benefits of the environment, different renewable energy sources to reduce addiction to oil with gas, and other solutions to make environment safe by watching documentaries or read different articles to help teach me how to improve myself to protect the environment.

Mr. Hall, I’m proud to call you one of my favorite actors because you do such a great job making your character have an interesting trait and makes the character have a story to help viewers like me learn more about their role in T.V. shows.  You did such a great job acting as Dexter Morgan in Dexter because you made him have a story about understanding life while getting rid of dangerous criminals in all 8 seasons. Your activism is truly inspiring to me and I agree with you on the need to make society better by protecting the environment from pollution to make water safe for people to use including helping animals benefit in the environment and pushing for funding to combat diseases to help people who suffer from them get the care that they need. Also you gave me motivation to continue learning about how they environment is important and to have courage to learn how to protect it.  I’m sending you $5 donation as a gift to you so you can use it to help fund organizations to protect the environment or to help fundraise a campaign to combat different diseases and a picture of me to remind you on how much you inspire me.  Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make Dexter a great show including making society a better place, and inspiring me.  I wish you the best luck for the future in acting and being in “Lazarus” Broadway. Also I hope someday there can be a Dexter movie where Dexter Morgan can reunite with his son.
