Dear Honorable Franklin,

My name is Matt Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I have a strong interest in learning history including social justice. In these subjects, I like to learn the need for Civil Rights to be stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution, and many others. Honorable Franklin, the main reason I’m writing you a letter is to explain how I find your work when you served as commissioner of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, 29^th U.S. Secretary of Commerce and as a moderate Republican to be very inspiring to me.

When you served as a commissioner of Consumer Product Safety Commission from 1973-1978, I was very proud on how you worked with President Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, and Jimmy Carter to find ways to improve product safety.  Also in your role as commissioner of Consumer Product Safety Commission I liked on how worked with President Jimmy Carter to help create U.S. Regulatory Council to work with different agencies like the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Food and Drug Administration to research along with regulate carcinogens. In 1992, I liked on how you accepted President George H.W. Bush to be nominated to serve as U.S. Secretary of Commerce to help him improve our country.  When you served as 29^th U.S. Secretary of Commerce from 1992-1993, I liked on how you were a strong supporter of Civil Rights by advocating for people with disabilities rights,  supporting funds to help women including minorities businesses to help them compete in the economy, and working with President George H.W. Bush to help continue to improve Civil Rights legislation to help protect women, minorities, and people with disabilities from being discriminated in education and public places. To improve public safety, I liked on how you worked to push for some regulations like expand laws to make sure that products are safe for people to use when they come from other countries, encourage companies to make products environmentally friendly to reduce pollution, and push for tough laws when companies illegally use dangerous chemicals in the products.  After you left public service, I liked on how you continue to be a moderate Republican on supporting Civil Rights including people with disabilities’ rights to reduce  discrimination, advocate for consumer safety, express the need for immigration reform to help protect immigrants including refugees from being oppressed, and support environmental protection.

Honorable Franklin, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased.  Your commitment to be a strong supporter of Civil Rights including people with disabilities’ rights really inspires me to work hard on my disability. Also I visited The Gerald Ford Presidential Museum, The Jimmy Carter Presidential Museum, and The George Bush Presidential Museum and I enjoyed learning about your work in the these presidential administration and how you helped them on improving our country.  Your role as commissioner of Consumer Product Safety Commission, as 29^th U.S. Secretary of Commerce, and as a moderate Republican gives me motivation to continue to learn history including social justice. My future goal is to someday work in these areas to help emphasize the need to make Civil Rights stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution, have immigration reform to help protect immigrants including refugees from oppression, and many others.

I strongly believe that you made a great difference for public service. I’m proud on how you worked with President Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, and George H.W. Bush to help improve our country on Civil Rights, environmental protection, consumer safety, and public safety.   Also I like on how you are a moderate Republican on continuing to advocate for Civil Rights, environmental protection, and many others when the GOP gets too extreme.  You have inspired me to work hard on my disability, visit the presidential museums to learn about your work, and be motivated to continue to learn history including social justice.  Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great impact on society, and inspiring me. I wish you the best to continue to advocate with push for common sense ideas.

Dear Mr. Sisto,

My name is Matt Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I’m a fan of your acting.  My favorite tv show that you played in was Law And Order. Law and Order was a great crime drama about how NYPD detectives work on solving homicide cases and how they work with the prosecutors on handling the case at trial. In the show I liked on how it focus how detectives would use their investigative skills, learn from forensic scientist to learn about the evidence, and use it to help the District Attorney prosecute people who are accused of a crime. Mr. Sisto, you do such an excellent job portraying as Detective Cyrus Lupo because I liked on how you made Detective Lupo have different traits like working with his two partners which are Detective Ed Green and Detective Kevin Bernard when each of them have different methods on how to solve a case, learning how to improve his detective investigation skills when he makes some mistakes, being thorough when reviewing evidence or witness statements, and many others.  I enjoyed watching Season 18-20 of Law And Order because I liked seeing how Detective Lupo learns how to improve his traits when learning about the job.  Recently I started to watch FBI. FBI is an interesting show  about New York FBI agents who work with the FBI unit to investigate cases that  deal with crimes related to federal crimes.  In FBI, I like on how you make FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine because I liked on how you make him resourceful on forensic science including data research on different evidence or background checks to help assist FBI Special Agent Bell and FBI Agent Zidan on solving cases. 

Mr. Sisto, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased. Your role as Detective Lupo in Law And Order and as FBI Special Agent in Charge Valentine helps inspires me to work hard on my disability. Also your role in crime drama shows helps give me motivation to continue to watch this type of genres.  Some of my favorite tv crime drama shows are Law And Order, Law And Order CI, Chicago PD, CSI Miami, and SWAT.

I strongly believe that you are a great actor for crime drama shows. You do such on excellent job making your character have different traits.  You inspire me to work hard on my disability and be motivated to continue to watch crime drama. Here is a picture of me wearing my FBI gear as a gift to you to keep for inspiring me.  Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, doing an excellent job acting, and inspiring me. My name is Matt Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan with a strong interest in learning history and social justice.  In these subjects, I like to learn the need to make Civil Rights stronger to reduce discrimination, have diversity to make society a better place for people with different background, and many others. President Fernandes, the main reason I’m writing you a letter is to explain how I find your story about overcoming your disability and your work as 9^th President of Guilford College to be very inspiring to me.

In July 2014, I was amazed on how you made history by becoming the first woman and first deaf to become President of the Guilford College. I like on how you are a strong advocate for people with disabilities’ rights and support hiring women, minorities, and people with disabilities to work for the college. Expanded educational services to help people with different disabilities have accommodations to help assist them learn on different subjects like extra time on exams, have a note-taker help take notes, and more services of American Sign Language interpreters to help assist people who are deaf improve on communication with other people is a great way to help make colleges more welcome to people with disabilities.  To improve education, I liked on how you are push for more diversity programs to help teach people about different cultures and push for more liberal arts, science, and history classes to make education diverse to learn.   Another thing that I like about your work as President of Guilford College is how you support the need for immigration reform to help immigrants including refugees be protected including get an education from being oppressed, strongly advocate for Civil Rights, and work with student coalition groups to find ways to make Guilford College a better place or students to get a higher education.

President Fernandes, I have autism with a learning disability since I was born.  When I was in preschool through kindergarten I have “teaching time” where a speech therapist would work with me on developing speech including learning how to try to pronounce words.  In my school years from elementary school, middle school, high school, and even Washtenaw Community College I still struggle with a disability, but was able to get help from special education including T.A. or tutors to help assist me on learning different subjects, have extra time on exams, and use educational resources with a recorder to help improve my comprehension.  In May 2014,  I was able to get an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Washtenaw Community College  and in that degree my main focus is history, science, some business, some criminal justice, and government.  Even though I completed my education, I still have struggles with a disability like fitting in with other people due to them getting judgmental about me being different from other people, when I work at a job I have difficulty understanding how to perform task at a fast pace or need more training, sometimes I have trouble communicating my thoughts, and learning different advance subjects.  Your commitment to support Civil Rights including people with disabilities’ rights really inspires me to work hard on my disability.   On Youtube I enjoyed watching “WGHP Newsmaker: Dr. Jane Fernandes, Guilford College President” because I liked learning about how you worked hard to overcome your disability on being deaf to becoming president of a college, how you work with an interpreter to help assist you to communicate with other people, and about your struggles on being deaf on fitting in with other people.  Your story about your disability and working hard to overcome some of your struggles helps me to have faith in myself when I have difficulty with a disability.  Also your role as President of Guilford College gives me motivation to continue to learn history with social justice.  My future goal is to someday work in these areas to help emphasize the need to make Civil Rights stronger to reduce discrimination, the need for immigration reform to protect immigrants including refugees from being oppressed, and many others.

I strongly believe that you are making a great difference for society. Even though you still struggle with a disability, I’m very proud on how you are working hard to make education, disabilities’ rights, and diversity a better place.  Your story about being deaf, working hard to deal with a disability, and willing to work on improving society inspires me to work hard on my disability, be motivated to continue to learn history with social justice, and have faith that people with disabilities can be successful when I have struggles with a disability.  I hope that you could please give me some advice to work hard on a disability when struggles gets too strong.  Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference along with work on making a difference when you have a disability, and inspiring me.  I wish you the best to continue to make society, education, and people with disabilities’ rights a better place when the education system or political parties aren’t advocates for common sense ideas.

Honorable Gregoire, the main reason I’m writing you a letter is to explain how I find your work when you served as 16^th Attorney General of Washington and as 22^nd Governor of Washington to be very inspiring to me.

When you served as 16^th Attorney General of Washington from 1993-2005, I liked on how you prosecuted people who commit hate-crimes to help protect minorities including people who are different and investigated companies that practiced different forms of discrimination or violated Civil Rights legislation.  Supporting drug treatment programs to help drug-users get the care they need to reduce drug-abuse,  working with law enforcement including the Office of State Attorney General to expand resources to help victims of crime or victims of domestic violence get help on dealing with their trauma, and expressing the need for more funds for DNA testing including forensic science to solve evidence efficiently while reduce sending an innocent person to jail is common sense for criminal justice reform.   In your role as 22^nd Governor of Washington from 2005-2013, I truly appreciated on how you were a strong supporter of Civil Rights by advocating for people with disabilities rights,  supporting funds for women including minorities businesses to help compete in the economy, and expressing the need for equal pay for women to help protect them from being discriminated in pay based on gender. To improve the economy, I liked on how you supported job training programs to help train youth including workers to develop work skills to help prepare for the work force and support raising the minimum wage to help assist minimum wage workers to afford to live. On education, I liked on how you supported improvements on special education to help students with disabilities get accommodations they need to learn, work on providing schools with computers including literacy programs to help students get access to education while improve on their comprehension, and implement more after school programs to help provide students with help on their assignments from tutors.  Expanding on renewable energy resources to help reduce addiction to oil with gas, working with state legislature to provide funds to help clean parks including water resources to make them safe for people to use, encouraging businesses to use energy-efficient products to help reduce high energy cost while reduce pollution is common sense to help protect the environment from pollution.    Another thing that I liked about your work as Governor of Washington was how you signed into law same-sex marriage to help protect people who are same-sex couples form being discriminated based on their orientation, advocate for the need for immigration reform to help protect immigrants including refugees from oppressive countries,  and expand on stem cell research to find ways to combat against different diseases.
