President Joe Biden

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W.

Washington, DC  20500

Dear President Biden,

My name is Matt Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I have a strong interest in learning history, environment, social justice, and criminal justice reform.  In these subjects, I like to learn the need for civil rights to be stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution, and many others. President Biden, the main reason I’m writing you a letter is to explain how I find your work as 46th President of the United States to be very inspiring to me.

In your current role as 46th President of the United States, I truly appreciate on how you were a strong supporter of civil rights by advocating for people with disabilities’ rights, signed COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act to help protect minorities including Asian Americans from hate crimes, and continuing to support same sex couple’s rights. During the pandemic including the new normal era,  I really liked on how you had the courage to push for The American Rescue Plan to get passed in congress where it help expand on the COVID-19 vaccination production to help provide Americans including Americans who are low income with access to a vaccine to protect themselves from the virus, expand on the stimulus checks to people who are unemployed or had been laid off due to the pandemic, and improve on research on ways to combat against COVID-19 even though it wasn’t popular in politics or in the news media. Rejoining the Paris Climate Accords to work with other foreign countries to find ways to reduce co2 emissions and supporting funds for renewable energy resources to reduce addiction to oil including gas is common sense to help protect the environment. On the economy, I liked on how you had the courage to push for the Inflation Reduction Act to provide federal money to small businesses including companies help create jobs including invest in industries to build production of renewable energy resources  and CHIPS and Science Act to push for federal funds to boost research jobs in domestic on science including technology. On judicial reform, I like on how you are working to push for more diversity into the federal courts of minorities, people who are advocates of criminal justice reform and people who are advocates of disabilities’ rights or other civil rights.  Another thing that I like about your work as 46th President of the United States is how you push for Ketanji Brown Jackson to be nominated to the Supreme Court where she made history on becoming the first African American woman to be on the Supreme Court and signed Honoring our PACT Act of 2022 to improve health care access including better funding for veterans who were exposed to toxic substances during military services or burning pits to get better access to health care.

President Biden, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advanced subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts in different settings, and get teased. Also with my disability I have faced some forms of discrimination in public places and sometimes get harassed by law enforcement about having a disability. Your commitment to be a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights really inspires me to work hard on my disability. During the COVD-19 pandemic, I was laid off due to food service being closed to COVID-19 where I had struggled to get some stimulus checks due to unemployment services not working well. The American Rescue Plan that you signed and pushed for helped provide me with some stimulus checks to help keep me on my feet along with helping use the money to survive and to get access to the COVID-19 vaccine to help protect myself while be mindful of other people around me from the virus.  Your current role as 46th President of the United States helps give me motivation to continue to learn history including social justice. My future goal is to someday work in these areas to help emphasize the need for civil rights to be stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution, and many others.

I strongly believe that you are making a great difference for society. I’m very proud on how you are working hard to support civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights, protect the environment, and many others. Your presidency on pushing for The American Rescue Plan helped me out during the pandemic through the New Normal Era. You truly inspire me to work hard on my disability, learn more about your work, and continue to learn different subjects. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me. Please continue to advocate for common sense ideas.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick
