Dear Ms. Tunie,

My name is Matt Winick and I’m a fan of your acting. My favorite tv show that you played in was Law And Order SVU. In the show I really like the plot about detectives in the special victims unit in New York City investigating sex crimes along with working with forensic scientist including prosecutor.  Ms. Tunie, I thought you did a really great job portraying Dr. Melinda Warner in Law And Order SVU because I liked on how you made Dr. Warner have great traits like working with other forensic scientist to review any evidence related to a cases, being thorough on examining the body for any evidence or reviewing any details of a subject that could be related to a crime, and working with other detectives including the ADA to find ways to stop the perp.  In Season 2 and currently in Law And Order SVU, I enjoy watching Dr. Melinda Warner have more of a role in helping detectives on solving different cases besides spending time in the lab.  My favorite episodes of the show that you played in were “Blast” where Dr. Melinda Warner would team up with Detective Stabler on finding a girl who has leukemia who goes missing and “Harm” where Dr. Melinda Warner teams up with ADA Novak, the rest of the detectives, and Dr. George Huang to solve cases to against a psychiatrist who tortured prisoners in Iraq because I liked on how you really make Dr. Melinda Warner have a major role in helping the SVU squad on solving cases.

Besides your acting, I really like on how you are an activist for society.  In your activism I truly appreciate on how you  are an advocate with a strong supporter of Civil Rights including people with disabilities’ rights,  worked as Chair emerita with Board of Directors in Figure Skating in Harlem (non-profit organization) to help educate young girls to develop life skills through arts in figure skating,  use your role as board member of God’s Love We Deliver to help provide nutrition to children including people who are low-income or have different serious illness, and strongly express the need to help women including children have shelter.  Ms. Tunie, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts,  and get teased. Your commitment to be a strong supporter of Civil Rights including people with disabilities’ rights really inspires me to work hard on my disability.  Also your activism to help society and you strong support for social justice helps gives me motivation to continue to learn history including social justice.  In these subjects, I like to learn the need for Civil Rights to be stronger to reduce discrimination, have health care reform to help people with pre-existing conditions or who can’t afford health insurance get the care they need,  a strong need for immigration reform to help immigrants or refugees from being oppressed.   My future goal is to someday work in these areas to help emphasize the need for Civil Rights to be stronger, improve social justice to make communities a safe place, and many others.

I strongly think that you did such an excellent job making Law And Order SVU a great show to watch. Also I really liked on how you did a great job making Dr. Melinda Warner have great traits and be a great character for the show. Also your activism to help improve society is common sense. You have inspired me to work hard on my disability, be motivated to continue to learn history with social justice, and enjoy your acting. Here is $5 for you to use to help your activism and a picture of me  as a gift for inspiring me.   Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, doing an excellent job making your character including Law And Order SVU a great to enjoy, working hard to improve society through your activism, and inspiring me. I wish you well on your Broadway show and for you to continue to act. I hope someday you can comeback to Law And Order SVU to play your character again.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick
