Dear Prosecutor Savit,

My name is Matt Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I have a strong interest in learning history, social justice, and criminal justice reform. In these subjects, I like to learn the need for civil rights to be stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution, expand on criminal justice reform to help protect people’s rights while reduce crime, and many others. Prosecutor Savit, the main reason I’m writing you a letter is to explain how I find your work as current Washtenaw County Prosecutor to be very inspiring to me.

In your current role as Washtenaw County Prosecutor, I truly appreciate on how you are a strong supporter of civil rights by advocating for people with disabilities’ rights, prosecuting people who commit hate crimes to help protect minorities including people who are different, and investigate public places that practice different forms of discrimination or violate civil rights legislation. Supporting drug treatment programs to help drug users get the care they need to reduce drug abuse, pushing along with advocating for better funds to improve DNA testing including forensic science to help solve evidence including cases efficiently while reduce sending an innocent person to jail is common sense for criminal justice reform. Also on criminal justice reform, I like on how you are working on pushing for community services to help non-violent offenders including non violent juveniles to rehabilitate so they won’t re-offend,  work on addressing the need for better improvements in mental health services to help people who struggle with mental health or have disabilities, and support the idea of having social worker be on the call with law enforcement to help in different situations. Another thing that I like about your work as Washtenaw County Prosecutor is I like on how you are working to some marijuana reform like reduce high penalty charges on people who use marijuana, investigating public officials including law enforcement who are corrupt or accept illegal bribes, and prosecuting industries that illegally pollute the environment or violate environmental protection laws.  Also I like on how you are contouring to use your activism to advocate for better criminal justice reform, the need for better ethics laws to reduce police including prosecution misconduct, and emphasize the need for better protection of civil liberties to help protect people from losing their rights.

Prosecutor Savit, I have autism with a learning disability.  Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased.  Also with a disability I have struggles on trying to understand how society works due to my struggle with comprehension and I get bullied by women including adults about having a disability.   Also sometimes I face some forms of harassment from law enforcement about having a disability. Your commitment to be a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights really inspires me to work hard on my disability. Your role as current Washtenaw County Prosecutor gives me motivation to continue to learn history, social justice, and criminal justice reform. My future goal is to someday work in these areas to help emphasize the need for civil rights to be stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution, expand on criminal justice reform to help protect people’s rights while reduce crime, and many others.

I strongly believe that you are making a great difference in society including the criminal justice reform. I’m very proud on how you are working hard to support civil rights, protect the environment, push along with advocate for criminal justice reform, and many others. You truly inspire me to work hard on my disability, learn more about your work, and continue to learn different subjects.  I would like to meet with you because you inspire me. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me. Please continue to make a great difference and continue to push along with advocate for common sense ideas.
