Dear Mr. Drury,

My name is Matt Winick and I’m a fan of your acting.  My favorite movie that you played in was Pollyanna. In Pollyanna, I enjoyed the story about an orphan girl who has a cheerful personality where she changes a small town.  I thought you did an excellent job portraying George Dodds, Nancy’s sweetheart because I liked on how you made him have a sense of humor, caring about Pollyanna due to wanting her to be happy when she faces some obstacles like people not giving Pollyana a chance to be appreciated.   One of my favorite tv shows that I use to watch re-runs was The Virginian.  The Virginian was a great western tv show because I enjoyed the plot about a foreman The Virginian with his assistant Trampas on taking care of the Ranch while protecting people who owned it or helped sheriff including people who have problems.   In the show I really liked on how The Virginian had a great friendship with Trampas and helping him when he faced trouble. Mr. Drury, I really think that you did a great job making The Virginian a great character because I liked on how you made him have great traits like caring about the wellbeing of the people who owned the ranch, giving a chance to help people who are accused of a crime get a fair hearing or help solve a cases, help protect citizens of Medicine Bow, Wyoming with different things, and helping improve friendships with people or work with other people to reduce conflicts.  My favorite episodes of the show were The Executioners, Throw a Long Rope, The Brothers, Old Cowboy, and many others. Also I really liked watching all the seasons of the show because it helped me learn more about The Virginian’s role in helping society including learning more about the other main characters.  Also to note my parents were very big fans of The Virginian and they recommended me to watch re-runs of the show.

Mr. Drury, I have Autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased.  Another thing that I struggle with a disability is I struggle to fit in with society, sometimes people lose faith in me, and struggle with friendships.  Your role as The Virginian on making him a great traits like willing to work hard to overcome different obstacles and help people really inspires me to work hard on my disability. Also it helped me learn that being helpful or willing to have courage to do what is right can be really great principles. Also another thing is I enjoy watching youtube videos about The Virginian show to help me learn about how the show was made, some of the interesting thoughts from the cast members, and listen to your interviews.  Also I have a birthday card wishing you a Happy Birthday for April 18th with a short message including a $25 as a donation for you to use for charity to help preserve Western history.

I strongly believe that you made a great difference for The Virginian and you did an excellent job making him a great character with good principles traits.  You have inspired me to work hard on my disability, be a fan of The Virginian, and to continue not to give up on developing good principles when I face struggles.  Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, making The Virginian a great tv show, and inspiring me.

Also I wish you well to continue to share your story about the Virginian and to have a great birthday.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick
