Dear Mr. Lim,

My name is Matt Winick, an Asian American and I’m a fan of your acting, my favorite tv show that you currently play in is S.W.A.T.  S.W.A.T. is a great tv show because I enjoy the plot of the show about Sergeant Hondo who becomes leader of S.W.A.T where they work to combat against crime in California and picks his team ranging from officers to help assist him.  In the show I really like on how it focus on how each of the team members of S.W.A.T. learn how to work together on solving a plan to help reduce crime when they have different approaches to handle it and the idea of Sergeant Hondo working with Captain Cortez on trying to make the police department a better place for law enforcement while protecting citizens. Also I really like on how S.W.A.T. has a great diversity in the cast.  Mr. Lim, I think that you do such an excellent job portraying Officer Victor Tan because I like on how you make him have great traits like helping his teammates in S.W.A.T. to find ways to handle a situation, having a sense of humor, and many others. In November 2017 I enjoyed watching 8 episodes of the show because I really like on how each of the main cast makes their character have good unique traits.  You, Mr. Shemar Moore, Ms. Stephanie Sigman, Mr. Alex Russell, Ms. Linda Esco, Mr. Peter Onorati, Mr. Jay Harrington, and Mr. Kenny Johnson do such an excellent job making S.W.A.T. is a great tv show and making the characters great to learn.

Besides your acting career, I especially like on how you are active in the Asian American community by expressing the need for more Asian Americans to be in the entertainment industry, how more movies including tv shows should add more Asian American cast members,  and advocate for Asian American with disabilities’ rights including Asian American rights.  Mr. Lim, I’m an Asian American with autism including a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased.  Also another thing that I struggle with a disability is when some Asian Americans, some of my friends including their peers, and some Asian American parents get judgmental about me due to having a disability and how they believe that I don’t fir their culture. Your role as an Asian American and your advocacy for Asian American with disabilities’ rights really inspires me to work hard on my disability and to continue to be confident about being an Asian American when I face struggles.  Also the show S.W.A.T. also helps give me motivation to understand the importance of friendships and working together as a team when there are obstacles.

I strongly believe that you are making a great difference on S.W.A.T. You do such a great job making Officer Tan have great traits.  Also I especially like on how you are continuing being active in the Asian American community and advocating for diversity including Asian American rights.  Your acting and your activism really inspires me to work hard on my disability, continue to be confident about being an Asian American, learn the need for friendships, and to be a fan of S.W.A.T. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, doing a great job in S.W.AT. working hard to help the Asian American community, and inspiring me. I wish you well on filming more season 1 of S.W.A.T.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick
