Dear Ms. Kang,

My name is Matt Winick, an Asian American from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I’m a fan of your acting. My favorite tv show that you are currently playing in is Batwoman.  Batwoman is a great superhero tv show about Kathy Kane who comes back to Gotham where she becomes Batwoman to  help stop crime in Gotham. In Batwoman, I like on how Kathy Kane learns on how to improve herself on her abilities when she is facing challenges in life including dealing with being a superhero. Another thing is that I like in Batwoman is how she has some allies like Mary Hamilton, Luke Fox, and Catherine Hamilton to help her when she has difficulty. Ms. Kang, I think that you do such an excellent job portraying as Mary Hamilton because I like on how you make her have different unique traits like caring about her stepsister Kate Kane when she has different challenges, being an ally to Batwoman when she needs to reduce crime, and using her medical expertise to help citizens of Gotham who are low-income or come from underserved communities, and many others. So far I enjoy watching Batwoman because I like seeing how Kathy Kane would work hard to navigate her personal life while being Batwoman and seeing how her allies work to help her.

Besides your acting career, I like on how you are an activist on supporting civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes to reduce discrimination. Also I like on how you use your role as an Asian American to help advocate for Asian American rights including Asian American with disabilities’ rights and supporting Asian American organizations to help promote their culture. Ms. Kang, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased.  Your commitment to be a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes really inspires me to work hard on my disability. Being an Asian American with a disability is difficult for me when some Asians including some Asian Americans tease me along with get judgmental about me being different or not meeting their standards.  Your advocacy for Asians including Asian American with disabilities’ rights help give me some confidence about being an Asian American when I face different challenges.  Your character Mary Hamilton in Batwoman gives me some motivation to work hard when I face different challenges.

I strongly believe that you are a very talented actress. You do such an excellent job making your character have different unique traits. You inspire me to work hard on my disability and continue to be confident about being an Asian American when I face different challenges. Here is a picture of me for you to keep for inspiring me and a small donation to help your cause. I was wondering if you could please share with me what it is like being on Batwoman and if you could please give me some advice to work hard on my disability.  Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me.  please continue to make a great difference.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick
