Dear Mr. McGee,

My name is Matt Winick and I’m a fan of your acting.  My favorite tv show that you played in was Rescue Me. Rescue Me was a great tv show about firefighter in the FDYP on how they deal with life and trauma after 9/11. Also in Rescue Me, I enjoyed the plot about Tommy Gavin, a firefighter trying to understand life when he has difficulty. The main reason I liked Rescue Me is because it helped me understand what it is like being a firefighter, how firefighters balance dealing with personal life with work life, and how they work hard to overcome a struggle like losing their own during a fire or an event where lives are lost. Mr. McGee, I thought you did an excellent job portraying as FDNY Battalion Chief Jerry Reilly because I liked on how you made him have different unique traits like caring about the rest of the firefighters in his unit when they have difficulty with the job or struggle with PTSD, helping Tommy when he has struggle with alcohol addiction or other life issues, and being a fierce advocate for the need for better funds to help protect firefighters or expand benefits to help them along with their families.  Also I really enjoyed watching all the seasons of Rescue Me because it had great symbolism like the need to work hard to overcome different challenges when times are hard, a need for a person to help another person when they have a difficulty in their life or struggle, and many others.

Besides your acting career, I like on how you are an activist on supporting civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes to reduce discrimination. Also I like on how you are an advocate for the need to improve legislation to help the victims of 9/11 including benefits for firefighters including their families that were affected by the crisis.  Mr. McGee, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased.  Your commitment to be a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes really inspires me to work hard on my disability. Your character Battalion Chief Jerry Reilly and Rescue Me helped me have motivation to work hard when I face different obstacles.

I strongly believe that you are a very talented actor. You really do an excellent job making your character have different unique traits. You have inspired me to work hard on my disability, have some motivation to work hard when there are challenges, and be a fan of Rescue Me. Here is a small donation to help your cause. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make Rescue Me a great show along with make a difference for society, and inspiring me. I wish you the best for the future.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick
