Dear Director Landis,

My name is Matt Winick and I’m a fan of your movies that you directed.  Some of the movies that I liked that you directed was National Lampoon’s animal House, The Blue Brothers, Trading Places, Three Amigos, Coming to America, and Beverly Hills Cop 3.  The Blue Brothers was a great comedy movie about Jake who is recently paroled teams up with his brother Elwood to help save a Catholic Orphanage where they were raised by reuniting their members of the R&B band.   Three Amigos was a great movie about Lucky, Dusty, and Ned, who are silent film actors where they are mistaken as heroes and have to help villagers in a small Mexican village from El Guapo.  Director Landis, the main reasons I like some of your movies that you have directed is because it has different life lessons including symbolisms like the need for friendships when times are hard, how people who are different or come from a different background should be able to have a chance to learn how society works, the need for people who have different unique traits  to work as a team to help achieve a goal, and many others.  Also another thing that I like about the movies that you directed is how it has a sense of humor.

Besides your work as a film director, I truly appreciate on how you are a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes to reduce discrimination.  Director Landis, I have autism with a learning disability.  Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased. Your commitment to be a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes really inspires me to work hard on my disability.  Also another thing that I struggle with a disability is when I have trouble with maintaining friendships  due to peers of them along with some of my friends get judgmental about me being different or having a disability. Sometimes it is hard for me to fit in with other people or be in social settings.  Your movies that you have directed helps me feel confident about myself when times are hard and to learn how some life lessons or symbolism can make a difference.

I strongly believe that you are a very talented director.  You really do such an excellent job making movies clever, creative, a sense of humor, and some message along with symbolism. You have inspire me to work hard on my disability, try to understand life when there are challenges or obstacles, and be a fan of your movies.  Also here is a small donation to help your activism. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me. Please continue to work hard at making movies fun to watch and to make a great difference.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick
