Dear Mr. Kristofferson,

My name is Matt Winick and I’m a fan of your acting. My favorite movies that you played in were Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, A Star Is Born, Welcome Home, and Blade. Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, was a great western historical biopic movie about Pat Garrett’s conflict with Billy The Kid.  I thought you did an excellent job portraying as Billy The Kid because I liked on how you made Billy The Kid a influential historical figure because I liked on how you made him have different unique traits like being an anti hero for example stealing money to help people who are poor, fighting against the corruption of law enforcement or powerful people when they would take land away from ranchers or people who are farmers, and many others.  The movie helped me understand more about Billy The Kid’s life.  A Star Is Born was a great musical movie about John Norman Howard, a rock star singer/songwriter where he meets Esther Hoffman, a fan of his music which results in John helping Esther get into a singing career. In A Star Is Born, I liked on how you made John Norman Howard a unique character by making John be supportive of Esther on her singing career when she struggles with anxiety, working to try his best to improve his relationship with Esther along with his music career when he struggles with alcoholism, and many others. A Star Is Born had some great songs, a life lesson message about the need for friendship or relationship when times are hard, the importance of awareness about the need for people to get help when they struggle with addiction to alcoholism. Welcome Home had a great story about Jake Robbins, a Vietnam War veteran who returns to the U.S. after being a prisoner of war which resulted in him being reported missing  and has to try to readjust to life.  In Welcome Home, you made Jake Robbins a great character by making him try his best to be supportive of his wife when she struggles with emotions, reconnecting with his father after he went missing or when they had differences, trying his best to improve himself along with try to fit into society when he struggles with PTSD from being a prisoner of war. Welcome Home had some messages like the need for awareness to help veterans or people who serve our country when they return home get adjusted to life along with help them when they deal with PTSD or health issues and a strong need for friendships or to fix relationships to make life better. The Blade franchises was a fun superhero movie about Blade, a mixed human-vampire  who becomes a vampire hunter to hunt vampires from destroying the world.  In the Blade franchises you really made Abraham Whistler an influential character with different unique traits like being a mentor to Blade to help him understand the world of humans when he struggles to understand society, using his skills in building gadgets along with research to help Blade on his missions, and many others.  After your work in films, I really like listening to some of your singing. Some of my favorite songs that you sang were Why Me Lord, I’d Rather Be Sorry,  Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down, and many others. In your songs, I really like on how it has some symbolism of life for example the need for friendships or love when times are hard, have faith when life gets to hard, the importance of finding forgiveness or working hard to improve yourself to be a better person, and many others.

Besides your acting career, I truly appreciate on how you are a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes to reduce discrimination. Also on your activism I like on how you support environmental protection causes to help reduce pollution while combat against climate change. Mr. Kristofferson, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased.  Another thing that I struggle with a disability is when other people including other adults get judgmental about me being different from them and have struggles to find different methods to improve myself.  Your commitment to be a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes really inspires me to work hard on my disability.   Also your characters that you played in Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, A Star Is Born, Welcome Home, and Blade and some of your songs helps give me motivation to try to understand life when there are obstacles, learn the importance of kindness including compassion when the world gets too polarizing or filed with hate, explore different topics on life lessons, and many others. Also your role as Billy The Kid in Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid got me really interested in learning history and Billy The Kid’s life. In history I like learning about the need for civil rights to be stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment form pollution, have health care reform to help people with pre-existing conditions or who can’t afford health care get the care they need, and many others.

I strongly believe that you are a very talented actor. You do such an excellent job making your characters have different unique traits and making your songs fun to listen to while have a message. Your work and activism really inspires me to work hard on my disability, learn about how society works including history, find different methods to improve myself or expand on knowledge when there are obstacles, and be a fan of your work.  I was wondering if you could please take the time to answer some of my questions and give me advice about how to work  hard on my disability when there are challenges. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me.  Please continue to make a great impact on society.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick
