Dear Mr. O’Neal,

My name is Matt Winick and I’m a fan of your acting. My favorite movie that you played in was Love Story. Love Story was a great movie due to the plot about Oliver Barrett IV, a student who is a hockey player where comes from a wealthy family meets Jenny Cavilleri, a working class girl who is a student of music where they develop a relationship and have to deal with struggles in life when Jenny gets a terminal illness. Mr. O’Neal, I thought you did an excellent job portraying as Oliver Barrett IV because I liked on how you made him have different unique traits like caring about Jenny when she struggles with a terminal illness, continuing his relationship with Jenny even though they come from a different economic class or when other people along with his family get judgmental about Jenny being different from people, and many others. Also what I liked about Oliver was how he would continue to be compassionate to people who have struggles, continue to be supportive of Jenny when she faces obstacles, and many others. Even though Love Story was sad, I liked on how the movies had some message or life lessons like the need for compassion including kindness when people have struggles in life, how people who are different or come from a different background can have a friendship or a relationship, and how judging people harshly for being different or come from a different background is not good for society. My other favorite movie that you played in was Paper Moon. Paper Moon was a great comedy drama movie about Moses Moze Pray, a con man who decides to take Addie Loggins, a young girl on a journey to drop her off at Addie’s aunts.  In Paper Moon, I thought you made Moses Moze Pray a unique character because I liked on how you made him have compassion for Addie when her mother passed away, caring about Addie on their journey when they face different challenges, and tried to do good even though he is a con man.

Besides your acting career, I truly appreciate on how you are a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes to reduce discrimination. Mr. O’Neal, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased.  Another thing that I struggle with a disability is when other people including other adults get judgmental about me being different from them and have struggles to find different methods to improve myself.  Your commitment to be a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes really inspires me to work hard on my disability.   Your character Oliver Barrett IV in Love Story and  some of the messages in the movie help give me motivation to try to continue to have compassion along with expand on kindness to people when they have struggles, learn different methods to improve myself when I face obstacles, and try my best to understand life when there are challenges.

I strongly believe that you are a very talented actor. You do such an excellent job making your characters have different unique traits.  You inspire me to work hard on my disability, be a fan of your acting, and try my best to improve myself or understand life when there are challenges. I was wondering if you could please you could give me some advice about how to understand life when there are obstacles. Also here is a card wishing you a Happy Birthday for April 20th.  Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me. Also I want to thank you so much for being an inspiration to me. Please continue to make a great difference.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick
