Dear Ms. Park,

My name is Matt Winick, an Asian American from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I’m a fan of your acting. My favorite tv show that you played in was Star Trek: Enterprise and Raines. Star Trek: Enterprise was a great sci fi show about a crew of the Enterprise space ship where they go on a journey to explore space.  Ms. Park, you did an excellent job portraying as Communications Officer Hoshi Sato because I liked on how you made her have different unique traits like using her expertise of linguistic to help the rest of the crew at understanding different scenarios, have greta knowledge of alien culture along with speaking different languages, and working with the rest of the crew of the Enterprise including Captain Jonathan Archer when thy have some difference on how to handle a situation.  Also what I liked about Hoshi Sato was how she could be a close friend to Captain Jonathan Archer when he had struggles in life or trying to make critical thinking on different decisions. Raines was another tv show that I liked due to the plot about Detective Michael Raines who has hallucinations of victims who have been murdered to help him solve cases.  Ms. Park, you did an excellent job portraying as Police Officer Michelle Lance because I like on how you made Police Officer Michelle Lance have different unique traits like using her police officer skills to examine evidence including witness statements to understand a case and working with Detective Michael Raines on solving cases. Also what I liked about Police Officer Michelle Lance was how she was supportive of Detective Raines when he struggles with adjusting to life along with when he deals with getting bullied due to him having hallucinations.

Besides your acting career, I truly appreciate on how you are a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes to reduce discrimination. Also I like on how you use your role as an Asian American to help advocate along with support Asian Americans including Asian Americans with disabilities’ rights and express the need for educational awareness to help educate people about Asian American culture. Ms. Park, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability  is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different  advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased. Also another thing that I struggle with a disability is when some of my friends, peers, and other adults get judgmental about me being different from other people or not meeting their standards which results in me being left out of social groups or society. When I face these challenges or when I accidentally make a mistake I feel discourage about myself.  Your commitment to be a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights really inspires me to work hard on my disability.  Also being an Asian American with a disability is difficult when some Asians including some Asian Americans get judgmental about me being different or not meeting their standards. Your role as an Asian American and being an advocate with a supporter of Asian Americans with disabilities’ rights gives me confidence about being an Asian American when I face different challenges.

I strongly believe that you are a very talented actress. You do such an excellent job making your characters have different unique traits. I truly appreciate on how you are an activist to help improve society.  You truly inspire me to work hard on my disability, be a fan of your acting, and continue to understand life when there are challenges. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me.  Please continue to make a great difference for society.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick
