Dear Ms. Tofte,

My name is Matt Winick and I’m a fan of your acting. My favorite tv show that you starred in was Mr. Belvedere. Mr. Belvedere was a great sitcom show about Lynn Belvedere, a butler who moves to Pittsburg to help take care of the Owens family while trying to fit into society. Ms. Tofte, you did an excellent job portraying as Heather Owens because I liked on how you made her have different unique traits like trying her best as a high school student to understand society, being kind to other people including people with disabilities when they are different or have challenges in life, have a sense of humor, and working hard to improve herself when she faces challenges. Also what I liked about Heather Owens is how she accepted Mr. Belvedere on being a mentor to her along with helping give advice to her about life. Also what I liked about the show was how it focused on the need to accept people who are different or come from a different background, how kindness is important in life, the importance of finding ways to improve yourself to be a better person. I really enjoyed watching re-run episodes of the show to see Mr. Belvedere help the Owen Family and seeing how the Owen family including the kids of Owen Family learn about society while have a sense of humor.

Besides your acting career, I truly appreciate on how you are a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes to reduce discrimination. Ms. Hawk, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts in different settings (social and environmental), and get teased.  Another thing that I struggle with a disability is when other people including other adults get judgmental about me being different from them and have struggles to find different methods to improve myself.  Also I had done teaching time to help me learn to speak while learn how to improve my behavior, spent time in special education to help me learn different subjects in education, and many others.  Your commitment to be a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes really inspires me to work hard on my disability. Your role as Heather Owens in Mr. Belvedere and the show helps give me motivation to continue to find different methods to improve myself when there are challenges, learn how kindness is important in life when the world gets tough on me, and many others.

I strongly believe that you are a very talented actress. You did an excellent job making Heather Owens in Mr. Belvedere a great character with different unique traits. You truly inspire me to work hard on my disability, be a fan of your acting including Mr. Belvedere, and continue to find different ways to improve myself. I was wondering if you could please take the time to answer some of my questions. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me. Please continue to make a great difference for society.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick
