Dear Mayor Kelly,
My name is Matt Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I have a strong interest in learning history, social justice, and environment. In these subjects, I like to learn the need for civil rights to be stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution, expand on social justice to improve communities, and many others. Mayor Kelly, the main reason I’m writing you a letter is to explain how I find your work as 66th Mayor of Chattanooga, Tennessee to be very inspiring to me.
In your current role as Mayor of Chattanooga, Tennessee, I truly appreciate on how you are a strong supporter of civil rights by advocating for people with disabilities’ rights, supporting funds for women including minorities businesses to help them compete in the economy, and working with other city council members to expand on laws to combat against hate crimes to help protect people who are different. On the economy, I like on how you support expanding on job training programs to help train youth including workers to develop or improve on their job skills and heavily advocate for the need to raise the minimum wage to help assist minimum wage workers afford to live. Supporting funds for renewable energy resources to help reduce addiction to oil including gas, encouraging businesses including housing to reduce high energy cost while reduce pollution, and working to provide funds to help clean parks including water resources to make them safe for people to use is common sense to protect the environment from pollution. On education, I like on how you are working on funds to help fund special education to help improve accommodations to assist students with disabilities to learn and implementing literacy programs to provide students with help on their assignments from tutors. Another thing that I like about your work as Mayor of Chattanooga, Tennessee is how you expand on drug treatment programs to help drug users get the care they need to reduce drug abuse, advocate for the need for social workers to be on call with law enforcement to help people who struggle with mental health, and implement food drive to help provide food or canned goods to homeless people including people who are low income get help.
Mayor Kelly, I have autism including a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advanced subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts in different social settings, and get teased. Another thing to add is that I deal with different forms of discrimination in social or public settings for having a disability and people using false narrative where they blame people with disabilities for problems that they didn’t cause. Your continuous commitment to be a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights really inspires me to work hard on my disability. Also I enjoy listening to you on the internet and on youtube where you talk about social justice, civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights, and many others. Your role as 66th Mayor of Chattanooga, Tennessee helps give me motivation to continue to learn history including social justice, and environment. My future goal is to someday work in these areas to help emphasize the need for civil rights to be stronger to reduce discrimination, protect the environment from pollution, expand on social justice to improve communities, and many others.
I strongly believe that you are making a great difference for society. I’m very proud on how you are working hard to support civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights, protect the environment, expand on social justice, and many others. You truly inspire me to work hard on my disability, learn about your work, and continue to learn different subjects. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me. Please continue to make a great difference for society,
Sincerely,
Matt Winick
