Dear Ms. Mason,

My name is Matt Winick and I’m a fan of your acting. My favorite tv show that you were in was Longstreet. Longstreet was a great drama show about Mike Longstreet, an insurance investigator who is blind after an explosion which caused his wife’s death and decides to investigate who murdered his wife and helps investigate different cases. Ms. Mason, I thought you did an excellent job portraying as Nikki Bell because I liked on how you made her have different unique traits like helping Mike Longstreet on reading braille due to him being blind, being an advocate for people with disabilities’ rights, working with Mike Longstreet on examining different evidence, and many others. Also in Longstreet, I really like on how Mike Longstreet would find allies to help train him on learning different things like how to read people, learn martial arts skills, and many others.  Also another thing that I really liked about this show was how it showed that a person with a disability can make some difference when they face struggles, seeing the importance of people helping people with disabilities to find ways to be creative at doing critical thinking or different approaches in society, and seeing Nikki Bell work with Mike Longstreet on cases including their friendship.

Besides your acting career, I truly appreciate on how you are a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes to reduce discrimination. Ms. Mason, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advance subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts, and get teased.  Another thing that I struggle with a disability is when other people including other adults get judgmental about me being different from them and have struggles to find different methods to improve myself. Also with my disability, I struggle in society including a work place or when I volunteer on trying to do fast pace on different tasks including understanding how to do task efficiently which causes people to get flustered at me. Also with my challenges, I have struggles on maintaining friendships when other people get judgmental about me having a disability or not meeting their expectations. Your advocacy for civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes really inspires me to work hard on my disability.  Your character Nikki Bell in Longstreet helps give me motivation to continue to have compassion, use critical thinking to learn, and find different methods to improve myself.  Also Longstreet show helps give me some motivation to work on my disability when there are challenges in society, be creative at learning while use critical thinking, and many others.

I strongly believe that you are a very talented actress. You did such an excellent job making your character Nikki Bell have different unique traits. You truly inspire me to work hard on my disability, be a fan of Longstreet, and find ways to navigate different challenges with my disability. I was wondering if you could please take the time to answer my questions. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me. Please continue to make a great difference.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick
