Dear Dr. Tang,

My name is Matt Winick, an Asian American from Ann Arbor, Michigan and and the main reason I’m writing you a letter is to explain how I find your work as a dentist and some of your youtube content including tik tok content to be very inspiring to me.  On YouTube, I enjoy watching you talk about dental care, how you got interested in the career, and your life as a dentist on navigating life. Also on Tik Tok I like on how you help give advice to people on how to improve dental health, educating people about dental insurance, and advocating for the need for universal health care reform to help people who can’t afford health insurance or who struggle with a pre-existing conditions get help.  Besides your work as a dentist and your content, I truly appreciate on how you are a strong supporter of civil rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes, advocate for better health care reform to help people who are low income or people with preexisting conditions or who can’t afford health care get help, and address the need to expand on mental health services to help people who struggle with mental health or have a mental health illness get help.

Dr. Tang, I have autism with a learning disability. Having a disability is hard for me because I have trouble comprehending on learning different advanced subjects, sometimes I struggle to communicate my thoughts in different social settings, and get teased.  Your commitment to be a strong supporter of human rights including people with disabilities’ rights causes really inspires me to work hard on my disability. Being an Asian American with a disability is hard for me because some Asians and some Asian Americans get judgmental about me being different from them or not meeting their standards. Also your role as an Asian  and being an advocate along with a supporter of Asians with disabilities’ rights and Asian Americans with disabilities’ rights gives me confidence about being an Asian American with a disability when there are challenges.  Also your videos about dental health improvements helps me develop or improve on strategies on helping my teeth when I struggle with health insurance since I’m on Medicaid. Your work on educational awareness about health care system including dental health gives me motivation to learn about the importance of social justice to improve communities and how universal healthcare reform is important to help people who are low income or who have preexisting conditions or who can’t afford health care get help.

I strongly believe that you are making a great difference for society. I’m very proud on how you are working hard to advocate for social justice causes including people with disabilities’ rights, educate people about health care including dental care, and many others. You truly inspire me to work hard on my disability, be a fan of your work, and continue to learn the importance of social justice including health care reform. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, working hard to make a great difference, and inspiring me. Please continue to make a great impact on society.

Sincerely,

Matt Winick
