Dear Governor Blanchard,

My name is Matthew Winick from Ann Arbor, Michigan and I have a strong interest in studying history.   The main reason history is one of my favorite subjects is because I like to learn the need for Civil Rights to help protect people from being discriminated, a strong need to protect the environment from pollution, the need to help train workers to help improve the economy, and many others.  Also what I like to do with history is to study on how different people can make a great difference with their ideas and their work.  Governor Blanchard, I find your work as Governor of Michigan and later being a U.S. Ambassador to Canada to be very inspiring to me.

When you served as 45^th Governor of Michigan in 1983-1991, I really liked on how you worked hard to help improve Michigan’s economy by creating Michigan Youth Corps, a jobs training program to help train youth improve their work skills and help create jobs, creating a commission on Jobs and Economic Development where you formed a coalition with different business, labor organizations, and education to find common ground on fixing the economy, making worker’s rights stronger, and improving on education,  and implementing a public works project which created jobs to help fix infrastructure, roads, and public transportation to improve public safety.  On education I really liked on how you made it an important issue by creating Michigan Education Trust, a tuition program to help Michiganders in the state get assistance on tuition to go to college in order to get an education, Research Excellence Fund to help get your state get funding to do research on technology with improving technology to be a resourceful tool for people, and the Michigan Model Health Curriculum to help educate students on staying healthy with understanding different health issues. Your work on protecting the environment to make Michigan a better place from pollution and to improve tourism is common sense by strengthening environment protection on The Great Lakes to prevent it from being polluted, having funds to make water, rivers, and lakes clean from toxic chemicals, and supporting educational programs to help address the need to protect the environment from pollution with educating about ideas like conservation, renewable alternative energy, and other ideas to reduce pollution.  Also in your role as Governor of Michigan I really liked on how you continued your commitment to support Civil Rights to help protect minorities, women, and people with disabilities from being discriminated in education, public places, and jobs.  When you were Ambassador to Canada I liked on how you worked with them on improving relations between the U.S. and their country by working to improve environmental protection from pollution and having Open Skies Agreement to improve traveling for people to visit different countries, find ways to improve routes to help make flights safer, and to improve trade on different products.

I took a class about Michigan History at Washtenaw Community College and I enjoyed taking the class because I enjoyed learning about how Michigan had some historical part in U.S. History and how different people from Michigan area help make Michigan become a diverse place. In my Michigan History class I enjoy researching about your work as Governor of Michigan on finding ways to create jobs, improve education with reform, create coalition with different organizations to find ways to improve Michigan, protect the environment, and protect Civil Rights after my teacher gave a lecture about you.  Also your work on these different issues including supporting Civil Rights really inspired me to work hard on Autism, my disability and to have a strong interest in history to learn more about how different core values make a great difference in our country including the world.  Another thing is that your commitment to find ways to improve relations with other countries got me inspired to continue learning more about world history, understand the importance of building relations with other countries to work together on environment, peace, and many others.

 As a Michigander with a strong interest in studying history I am proud to call you one of my favorite U.S. Governors of Michigan because you really made a great difference on finding ways to create jobs with forming coalitions with different organizations to make Michigan a better place, improving education with reform to make learning better for students, protecting the environment from pollution, and supporting Civil Rights.  Also your work as Ambassador to Canada really made a great difference to improve better relations between both countries.  Also I consider you and Governor Jennifer Granholm to be great influential Governors of Michigan. Also I was wondering if you could please explain what it was like being an Ambassador of a country and give me advice about continuing learning history with government policy. Thanks for your hard work on making Michigan great with great ideas with achievements, inspiring me to be interested in history with working hard on Autism, and continuing make a great difference for society. My name is Matthew Winick and I have a strong interest in studying history.  The main reason I have a strong interest in studying history is to learn the need to protect the environment from pollution by having environmental protection with renewable alternative energy to reduce our addiction to oil with gas, the need to advance on Civil Rights to protect people who are different from discrimination, a need for government reform to reduce corruption in public officials including elections, finding ways to improve public safety with public health, and many others.  For the future I plan on using history as a tool to teach people about the need to improve society. Ms. Jackson, I find your work and your life as a worker in the EPA Department, New Jersey Commissioner of Environmental Protection under Governor Corzine, and becoming EPA Administrator under President Obama’s Administration to be very inspiring to me with your common sense about protecting the environment and being an advocate for the need to reduce climate change.

Before you started working in the EPA I was amazed on how you got interest in being active in environmental matters by becoming a volunteer for an organization at Clean Sites where you worked with them to help speed up cleaning up toxic chemicals from sites to improve public safety.  When you were appointed to be New Jersey Commissioner of Environmental Protection by Governor Corzine I liked on how you worked with law enforcement, community residents, and business on creating environmental initiatives to help reduce pollution in two cities Camden and Paterson by finding ways to reduce smog, improve public health, clean up toxic chemicals in drinking water, find ways to improve recycling properly with reducing littering, and many others.  I was very proud of you for accepting President Obama’s appointment for you to become an EPA Administrator.  When you were EPA Administrator under President Obama I liked on how you worked with him on finding ways to protect the environment from pollution by supporting his ideas to reduce climate change, implementing with promoting renewable energy like wind, solar, clean biofuel, and energy efficient products as energy sources to reduce our addiction to oil with gas.   During the BP Oil Spill, I liked on how you worked with President Obama, Secretary of The Navy Ray Mabus, and the BP Oil Commission Former Democratic Senator Bob Graham and Former Republican EPA Administrator William K. Reilly on investigating the BP Oil Spill in the Gulf Bay, create ideas to improve public safety, advocate for regulations to prevent an oil spill, and create a plan to team up with community, local, and different states on rebuild them from the spill with providing clean up funds to improve public safety.  Also I liked on how you spoke against the idea of building the Keystone Pipeline to help protect public safety including the environment, public lands, and farmers from pollution and future oil spills

Your work on environmental justice, being an advocate to reduce climate change with supporting renewable energy to reduce pollution, and your role as an EPA administrator helped me get inspired to be interested in learning more about the benefit of the environment and the need for renewable energy with alternative energy to reduce our addiction to oil with gas.  Also your work on these issues helped me get motivated to watch documentaries about protecting the environment from pollution, the dangers of oil with gas on the public, and how renewable energy can make a great difference. Since 2013 and currently I myself am a volunteer at Ann Arbor Hands On Museum, a children science museum in Ann Arbor Michigan where I work with other volunteers on helping teach children about science through working with them on doing hands-on science demonstrations. Also as a volunteer I also work with other volunteers to teach children about the need to protect the environment with explaining how to reduce pollution.

Ms. Jackson, I strongly believe that you made a great difference in your role as an environmental justice activist and later being an EPA Administrator under President Obama on making a great difference to protect the environment from pollution with supporting ideas of renewable energy including alternative energy like wind, solar, biofuel, and energy efficient products to make society and the environment a better place. Even though these ideas are not popular with both parties in Congress and special interest groups I am very proud of you for standing up to them with ideas to protect the environment from pollution. Also I’m very proud of you for working with President Obama, Secretary of Navy Ray Mabus, former Democratic Senator Bob Graham, and former Republican EPA Administrator  William Reilly on bipartisanship ideas to improve public safety, improve regulations limiting co2 emissions with pollution, and support the country moving towards renewable and alternative energy.  I also strongly believe that protecting the environment and supporting renewable energy including alternative energy is not an ideology issue, but an American issue and an environmental issue,. Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, inspiring me to be more aware about the environment, and working hard to make a great difference with your work on the environment. I want to wish you well for your role at Apple Inc. where you can help make their company more environmental safety.

My name is Matt Winick and I am a huge fan of your comedian acting role in movies and watching you do stand up comedy. My favorite movies that you played in are Ride, The Original Kings of Comedy, Barbershop, Barbershop 2: Back in Business, Be Cool, The Honeymooners, Code Name: The Cleaner, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins,  Larry Crowne,  and Cadillac Records.   I watched The Original Kings of Comedy and I enjoyed watching the movie because I enjoyed watching stand up comedy performances by you, Bernie Mac, D.L. Hughley, and Steve Harvey. I thought all of you did a great job performing comedy routes.  The Original Kings of Comedy helped me get interested in watching standup comedy and me getting interested in your comedic roles.  Mr. Cedric the Entertainer, I myself like to watch standup comedy online on youtube including Netflix.  In Barbershop series I thought you did a great job playing Eddie, I really liked on how you make Eddie into a funny character, and I thought you did a great job teaming up with Ice Cube and Michael Ealy on making the Barbershop a funny movie.  I enjoyed watching Code Name: The Cleaner with you and Ms. Lucy Liu.  In Be Cool I really liked on how the movie had some drama with a lot of humor in it. Also in Be Cool  I really liked on how you played Mr. Sin LaSalle, a music mongul teaming up with  Mr. Chili Palmer, a former mobster going into a music industry to promote a singer with  played by John Travolta.   Cadillac Records was an amazing movie because I really liked the history of Mr. Executive Leonard Chess who created Chess Recordings where he help produced music from different races including African Americans musicians.  Also in Cadillac Records  I was amazed  by your acting with singing talent as Willie Dixon.  I am a huge  fan of listening to Willie Dixon’s music with listening to Blues.  You really did a great job playing Willie Dixon in the movie.

Mr. Cedric The Entertainer, I think that you are an excellent actor, a great comedian, and a great stand up comedian. I am proud to be a fan of you because you helped me get motivated to watch more comedy movies, get me interested in watching stand up comedy, and getting me interested in listening to different types of music.  I’m also sending you a birthday card for your birthday on April 24 with $5 as a gift.  Thanks for taking the time to read my letter and making comedy fun, funny, and clever. Dear Mr. Hoffman,

My name is Matt Winick and I am a fan of your acting in different movies. My favorite movies that you played in are The Graduate, Midnight Cowboy, Lenny, All the President’s Men, Tootsie, Death of The Salesman, Rainman, Kung-Fu Panda, The Tale of Despereaux, and Last Chance Harvey. Also I enjoyed watching you star in Luck, a TV show.   In The Graduate, I thought you did a great job playing Benjamin Braddock because I liked on how you made him a interesting character where he is trying to find what he wants in life after graduating from college.  In Lenny I was amazed on how you made Lenny Bruce an interest character by making him have a comedic side while dealing with a drug addiction because he struggles with life. The movie Lenny got  me to be very interested in studying history and learning on how famous people use different work to make an event or a difference for history or an event.  All The President’s Men is one of my favorite movies because I thought you and Mr. Robert Redford did a great job teaming up to make the movie interesting by playing Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward, two reporters investigating the Watergate Scandal.  This movie helped me get interested in American history to learn about the need to reduce corruption in government.  In 2008, I enjoyed watching Last Chance Harvey because I liked the story about Harvey Shine, a musician who works on making music for TV commercials and decides to travel to London to go to his daughter’s wedding where Harvey meets a girl named Kate and they develop a friendship later turned into a friendship. The reason I enjoyed the movie is because I liked your acting and I like the story about how Harvey works hard connecting with his daughter by going to her wedding and looking for a fresh start for a friendship with a relationship.

                 
 I consider Rain Man one of my top favorite movies because I really liked on how you and Mr. Tom Cruise made it into a great movie with a great message.  I really enjoyed the story about Charlie (Tom Cruise) who finds out that his estranged father had passed away and realizing that the father has another son named Raymond (Dustin Hoffman) who is Autistic, where Charlie looks for Raymond where they work hard to bond their friendship with reuniting as brothers.  The movie really had a strong message like the need to help each other out when they have a problem and the need for friendship. Also the movie was great because I really liked on how Charlie is very committed to help Raymond with his disability. Rain Man made a huge impact on me to work hard on dealing with Autism and it gave me motivation about the need to work hard on overcoming struggles and trying my best to find with working on friendship.  I was born with Autism and it is very difficult because I faced many struggles like having trouble speaking when taking to other people, having trouble on comprehension when learning different subjects, and people teased me about having it. When I was a little kid I had trouble with behavior including where I couldn’t talk, but I had a speech therapist Pam where she worked with me on speech, learning short words, working on pronouncing. She even worked with me on trying to learn how to do different stuff like swimming, riding a bike, and many others. In elementary school through college I struggled with Autism because I had very difficulty comprehending on learning subjects at a normal rate and people teased me about it. When people teased me about it I felt sad because it was very difficult of having friends. However The ADA, Special Education, T.A., and tutors worked with me on my disability with helping me get an education by having accommodations like extra time on exams, getting a T.A. or a Tutor help me on learning subjects to improve comprehension, have close caption with subtitles when watching tv, movies, or documentaries to help me with vocabulary or understand a topic, and have technology like educational software and a recorder to help my disability including helping me read or work on assignments. Your character Raymond, your portrayal of him, and Rain Man helped and inspired me to work hard on Autism and I am very proud of your hard work in the movie.

Mr. Hoffman, I am proud to consider you one of my favorite actors because you do such a great job making the characters that you play have an interesting background.  Also your work in Rain Man really made a great difference for me to work hard on Autism, find ways to have friendship, and to have fun learning different subjects like history.  Mr. Hoffman, also I am proud to call you a true role model for me because I like on your activism to help advocate for people with disabilities including Autism.  I’m sending you a story about working hard on autism with my handwritten dedication to you, $3 for you to donate to a charity to help people with Autism, and a birthday card as a gift for your birthday on August 8^th.  Also I’m sending you a card because I was wondering if you could please take the time to respond back to me on what you think of my letter, my story, and please explain more about your advice on how to overcome struggles with a disability because it would really mean a lot to me and it really can help me get even more motivated.  I look forward to see you play in more movies for the future and Ill be very glad to continue supporting you by watching more movies of you.   Thanks for taking the time to read my letter, my story, inspiring me, and taking the time to respond back to me with your advice.
